    Information and Communication technologies

Innovation in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is based on research at the nanoscale, at the crossroads between nanoelectronics and nanochemistry, including the emerging field of organic electronics.

Focus today in all these areas is on the development of materials designed at the nanometric scale with specific properties and functions, to produce new applications, from intelligent sensors to OLED flat screens, RFID tags, electronic paper, hybrid components for spintronics and photovoltaic cells.

As there are also promising prospects for technologies based on carbon nanotubes, graphene, quantum dots and semiconductor nanowires, as well as for various molecules and polymers that are electro or photo-active on the submicron scale, research is active in all these fields.
