“Steps for Industry”: a GIANT program for building bridges between research and industry

This program, targeting businesses, showcases GIANT campus’ excellence in research, encourages collaboration, and, more generally, promotes the GIANT ecosystem.
Communities of experts from various GIANT member institutes (ESRF, ILL, EMBL, and CEA) provide the program’s content. Each community of experts addresses a specific topic through the lenses of multiple disciplines and approaches:

  1. Battery@GIANT
  2. Medtech-Biotech@GIANT
  3. 3DPrint@GIANT – coming soon

This program is intended as a link between GIANT’s senior scientists and world-class facilities on one hand, and industrial development, innovation, and production needs on the other, effectively interfacing the worlds of scientific research and industrial R&D.

GIANT brings its knowledge and facilities to comprehensive, collaborative solutions to industrial R&D challenges. Typically, GIANT will bring a multidisciplinary approach to a business case from a specific industry.

The GIANT Innovation Campus has long been recognized as a leading source of high-added-value solutions to industrial R&D needs. The GIANT Steps for Industry communities work together on joint projects and attend trade shows and industry events under the GIANT brand to help bring the GIANT vision to even more industrial companies.

GIANT Innovation Campus

Grenoble is recognized as a world-leading R&D center for battery technologies, in particular thanks to GIANT partner organizations like the CEA, ESRF, ILL, and CNRS.

GIANT’s capabilities and facilities are unrivaled by any other organization in the world, making the campus the ideal place for research scientists and battery specialists. The Battery@GIANT community is a connector, creating synergies and enabling cooperation between stakeholders spanning research and industry.

The CEA, ESRF, and ILL regularly engage in joint initiatives to promote the battery R&D being done at the GIANT campus, which ranges from basic research and state-of-the-art characterization techniques at the EPN campus to tech transfer projects led by the CEA Technology Research Division.

The Battery@GIANT community helps companies solve issues relating to energy storage and battery performance and durability. Members from the worlds of research, academia, and industry work alongside one another, sharing know-how, new research, and emerging trends. The diverse nature of the community makes for fruitful discussions that often lead to successful long-term collaborations.

GIANT helps the community organize events, get involved in trade shows, and promote its cutting-edge battery research to a wider audience.
