EMBL Grenoble: advancing science through innovative technology

The Instrumentation Team at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Grenoble has worked for more than 30 years to support scientists through the development of advanced innovative technology. Early collaborations were mainly with the Institut Laue Langevin (ILL), with a shift towards macromolecular X-ray crystallography when the European Synchrotron (ESRF) was inaugurated in 1994. The close proximity of these three major European institutes on the European Photon and Neutron (EPN) science campus facilitates the collaborative development of innovative technology capable of advancing science and achieving breakthroughs.
