Semiconductors: What Are the Challenges for France–Taiwan Cooperation?
20 October @ 17h15 - 20h05
At the heart of today’s technological and geopolitical challenges, semiconductors are a strategic sector for innovation and industry. On Tuesday, 20 October 2026, Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA) and the Alliance Franco-Taïwanaise Aura Association are organising a conference dedicated to exploring opportunities for cooperation between France and Taiwan.
Initiated by Yassine Lakhnech, President of UGA, and Hugo Kuo, President of the Alliance Franco-Taïwanaise Aura Association, the event will address collaboration in research, education and training, innovation, and industry.
The evening will begin with a screening of A Chip Odyssey, a documentary directed by Hsiao Chu-Chen in 2025, presented in Mandarin with French subtitles (1 hour 45 minutes). This will be followed by a panel discussion bringing together researchers, institutional representatives, and industry professionals, including Thomas Ernst, Scientific Director at CEA-Leti. The discussion will explore the challenges of Franco-Taiwanese cooperation and highlight partnerships contributing to the development of tomorrow’s technologies.
